Cranberry Bed with Rocking Stones up above


Oaken Bank with the river Derwent in it's infancy stage

The route of ascent follows the river Derwent most of the way


Higher up the valley Grinah Stones comes into view


Finaly Hoar Clough is reached which gives access up to Featherbed Moss

The channels in the peat hags caused many access problems


In the distance is the Holme Moss transmitter


The conditions were quite boggy and the route tended to zig zag to avoid wet feet
